Job summary

Kemps in St. Louis Park, MN is seeking a Sr. Manager, Transportation/Distribution to lead transport and distribution planning and execution within regulatory and company rules.

You will develop best-in-class transportation policies, manage scheduling, budgeting, carrier relationships, and KPI reporting, while coaching transportation managers and ensuring safe, cost-effective deliveries. Primary focus includes optimizing fleet operations, reducing costs, and ensuring reliable service to customers

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, and/or transportation including supervisory/management responsibilities.
• 5+ years of management experience in distribution, logistics, and/or transportation.
• Strong knowledge of dairy industry or food/beverage industry production practices, processes, regulations, and equipment.
• Strong understanding of DOT transportation regulations related to lawful operation.
• Experience in leadership, coaching, and team building.
• Proven budgeting and financial analysis skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document processes and problems; develop strategies to improve operating quality and efficiency.
• Communicate with facilities and staff regarding issues; present findings to leadership.
• Ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery within budget constraints.
• Oversee scheduling, work assignments, and optimization of trucks; manage staffing efficiently.
• Negotiate carrier rates and lanes to support new business; review carrier agreements with legal.
