Job summary

Kemps, based in St. Louis Park, MN, seeks a Senior Manager to lead transportation and distribution operations. You will plan, implement, and optimize truck and fleet activities while ensuring regulatory and safety compliance.

This role requires extensive leadership, budgeting, and KPI tracking, with significant travel and cross-functional coordination across facilities and corporate teams. Join a farmer-owned cooperative driving dairy distribution excellence.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in distribution, logistics, and/or transportation, including supervisory or management experience.
• 5+ years of management experience in distribution, logistics, and/or transportation.
• Strong knowledge of dairy industry or food/beverage industry production practices, processes, regulations, and equipment.
• Strong understanding of DOT transportation regulations related to lawful operation.
• Solid understanding of industry, safety, quality, etc., policies (PMO, OSHA, SQF, GMP).
• Experienced in leadership, coaching, and team building.
• Accomplished in budgeting and financial analysis techniques.
• May be required to obtain and maintain other certifications and/or licenses for continued employment.
• Ability to travel 50% - 75%.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and document processes; develop strategies to improve operating quality and efficiency.
• Communicate with facilities and leadership; present findings.
• Ensure safe, efficient, cost-effective delivery and service within budget.
• Identify and implement training and development programs in quality and leadership.
• Oversee scheduling, workload, and optimization of trucks; minimize time and errors.
• Coordinate contracted services; negotiate rates and lanes as needed.
• Manage distribution budget and seek cost reductions through continuous improvement.
• Track and report KPIs to stakeholders.
• Hire and develop staff; coach managers and establish department goals.
