Job summary

Kemps seeks a Transportation/Routing Supervisor at the Minneapolis Milk Plant, Minneapolis, MN. Lead driver scheduling, dispatch operations, and routing optimization to meet customer needs and reduce costs.

Oversee daily workflows, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced dairy distribution environment. The role requires 2–4 years in dispatch/logistics, a high school diploma, and strong Excel-based data handling.

Qualifications

• 2 to 4 years of dispatching, logistics, or related experience.
• Class A CDL preferred, or willing to obtain.
• Proficiency with MS Excel and Pivot Tables.
• Experience using warehouse management, inventory, and other company systems.
• Knowledge of regional transportation and regulatory requirements.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily directions to drivers to ensure safe, efficient operations and to meet customer requirements.
• Schedule and dispatch daily loads to optimize routes and reduce costs.
• Dispatch drivers based on availability, capacity, and deadlines; confirm dates/times.
• Communicate delivery instructions and updates to customers and drivers.
• Create schedules, approve time, monitor overtime, and manage attendance.
• Maintain up-to-date routes and utilize routing software for efficiency.
• Ensure all paperwork for each load is completed for reporting and compliance.
• Prepare and distribute operational KPI reports.
• Input and maintain data in systems and generate reports.
• Assemble orders and maximize carrier load weights with depots.
• Monitor delivery progress and address delays or issues promptly.
• Be on-call for emergencies and irregular requirements.
• Ensure dispatch activities comply with laws and regulations.
