Job summary

Stantec seeks Senior Construction Inspectors to join its Transportation team in Virginia or Maryland. The role focuses on daily inspection activities on complex projects, ensuring compliance with plans, specifications, and contract documents while coordinating with contractors and clients.

You will help prepare data for engineers, manage documentation, and mentor junior staff; field work and travel to project sites are expected. Primary locations include Richmond, VA and Laurel, MD.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience with VDOT procedures and policies.
• Strong math, drafting, and scientific reasoning.
• Ability to solve complex problems with sound judgment and innovation.
• Proficiency in Site Manager and Project Wise; valid material certifications.

Responsibilities

• Inspect roadway, structure, and bridge construction projects for safety and compliance.
• Coordinate inspections with contractor, client staff, and stakeholders.
• Generate inspection reports and document test results for approval.
• Mentor junior staff and contribute to closeout documentation.
