Job summary

Metro Associates is seeking a Transportation & Highway Technical Manager to provide senior technical leadership on highway and roadway design projects across Upstate New York. The role focuses on leading design efforts, guiding engineering staff, and delivering high-quality project outcomes for NYSDOT and local municipalities.

The candidate should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering with 8–15 years in transportation projects, and preferably a PE license.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 8-15 years’ experience in transportation, roadway, or highway engineering.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain it.
• Prior staff management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead highway and roadway design and guide engineering staff.
• Oversee design quality and ensure compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Provide technical leadership and decision-making across projects.
• Mentor and develop team members and recruit top talent.
• Implement quality control processes and conduct technical audits.
