Job summary

Metro Associates is seeking an experienced Highway Design Project Manager to lead complex transportation projects across New York State. You will manage highway and roadway design from preliminary design through PS&E, permitting, and construction support, interacting with NYSDOT and local agencies to deliver safe, resilient transportation solutions.

You will guide multidisciplinary teams on corridor improvements, intersection upgrades, and federally funded programs, ensuring alignment, scope,

Qualifications

7+ years of progressive highway design and project management experience.
Experience delivering projects from preliminary design through PS&E and construction support.
PE license preferred or ability to obtain it.
Strong client and stakeholder relationship management.
Proficiency in MS Office and MicroStation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead highway design projects from scoping to construction support.
Manage scope, schedule, budget, and staffing to ensure successful project execution.
Mentor and develop junior staff.
Prepare proposals, scope definitions, and fee estimates.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and quality standards.
Oversee client communications and project closeout.
