Job summary

Metro Associates is seeking a Transportation & Highway Technical Manager / Civil Engineer to provide senior-level leadership on highway and roadway design projects in Upstate New York. You will lead design efforts, guide staff, and ensure high-quality project delivery for NYSDOT and municipalities.

The ideal candidate has a B.S. in Civil Engineering and 8–15 years in transportation engineering; a PE license is preferred or obtainable.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering is required.
• 8–15 years of transportation/roadway/highway engineering experience.
• PE license preferred or ability to obtain it.
• Prior staff mentoring and leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead hands-on highway and roadway design for Upstate New York projects.
• Guide and develop engineering staff to ensure high-quality delivery.
• Oversee design compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
• Serve as technical lead on best practices and issue resolution; conduct technical audits.
