Job summary

HR Green, Inc. seeks a Lead Transportation Engineer in Sioux Falls, SD. You will provide technical leadership for roadway projects, mentor engineers, and help shape standards across the transportation practice.

The role requires a PE license, 7+ years of highway design experience, and strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills. Expect collaboration with clients and teams, with opportunities to influence project delivery and growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a PE license are required or active.
• 7+ years of design/engineering experience with highway/roadway work.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, verbal and written communication.
• Ability to mentor engineers and provide QA/QC oversight.
• Experience with MS Office and transportation design software.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex roadway and highway designs and make critical technical decisions.
• Serve as a technical expert and mentor others across teams and offices.
• Provide QA/QC oversight to ensure client expectations and standards are met.
• Identify issues and coordinate with PMs and clients to resolve them.
• Sign and seal engineering documents as an HR Green representative.
• Support bidding, construction questions, and field coordination as needed.
• Lead assignment of work and help teams stay on track.
• Contribute to proposals, client presentations, and business development.
