Job summary

Felsburg Holt & Ullevig in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a mid-level civil engineer to work on transportation projects under the direction of a senior project manager. You will contribute to a range of roadway, interchange, and drainage design efforts while developing your project management skills and taking on smaller assignments.

The role requires a bachelor's in civil engineering, 5–10 years of transportation experience, and proficiency with MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an accredited program.
• Experience with MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads or AutoCAD Civil 3D is desired, with emphasis in surface modeling.
• 5–10 years of Transportation Engineering experience including roadway, highway, interchange and related design.
• Ability to multi-task several projects while meeting budgets and schedules.
• Experience writing reports and business correspondence; proficient with MS Excel and MS Word; able to present information to groups.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering/design plans and documents using CAD software.
• Coordinate design elements including roadway, traffic, environmental, structural and drainage design.
• Assist in establishing design-fee budgets, estimates, scoping, and marketing strategies.
• Create project schedules and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Instruct and assist designers/technicians; ensure quality system tasks are followed.
