Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng) or Professional Technologist (Pr. Tech Eng) registration with ECSA.
• 6+ years of experience in transportation planning and road design.
• Proficiency in traffic modeling software such as VISSIM, SIDRA, or similar.
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles, geometric design, and traffic management systems.
• Experience with relevant South African transportation standards and guidelines.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report writing abilities.
• Good communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct traffic studies, demand modeling, and network analysis.
• Design road layouts, intersections, and traffic control measures.
• Prepare traffic impact assessments and transportation planning reports.
• Develop strategies for improving traffic flow, safety, and public transport efficiency.
• Collaborate with civil engineers, urban planners, and local authorities.
• Ensure designs comply with relevant national and provincial transportation standards and regulations.
• Assist in project management and construction supervision for transportation projects.
• Evaluate the feasibility of new transportation infrastructure proposals.
• Stay current with advancements in transportation engineering principles and technologies.
