Placements24 is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead infrastructure projects in and around Queenstown, Eastern Cape. You will guide project teams, ensure technical excellence, and manage client relationships on roads, water, and sanitation initiatives.

The role requires a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering, PrEng with ECSA, 7–10 years of relevant experience, and willingness to travel. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Civil Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PrEng) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering design and project management.
• Experience in managing infrastructure projects (roads, water, sanitation).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, WaterGEMS, SewerGEMS.
• Strong project management and contract administration skills.
• Leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
• Willingness to work in and travel within Queenstown, Eastern Cape.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and development of civil engineering projects including roads, water and wastewater systems.
• Manage all project lifecycle phases from feasibility to commissioning.
• Conduct site investigations and surveys to inform design.
• Prepare detailed designs, calculations, drawings, and specs.
• Mentor junior engineers and staff.
• Ensure compliance with engineering standards and environmental requirements.
• Manage budgets, schedules and resources for timely delivery.
• Liaise with clients, authorities, stakeholders and contractors.
• Review and approve design documents and contractor submissions.
• Provide expert technical advice on complex challenges.
