Job summary

Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) in New York City seeks a Senior Transportation Engineer / Project Manager to join the Mobility group. The role focuses on mobility planning, traffic modeling, and client leadership on complex transportation projects in NYC.

You will develop microsimulation models (Vissim, VISWALK, VISUM), perform traffic impact studies, and guide teams from concept through completion while collaborating with agencies like NYCDOT and MTA.

Qualifications

• 11+ years of professional transportation planning/engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree required (master's degree a plus may substitute for 1 year of experience)
• AICP or Professional Engineer (PE) license
• Strong Vissim modeling capabilities required
• Experience with HCS and Synchro required
• Experience with major NYC metro area agencies preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop mobility and transportation planning and engineering solutions for transportation projects
• Perform traffic impact studies
• Develop and calibrate traffic microsimulation models; explain results to clients
• Develop, analyze, and evaluate traffic improvements
• Research transportation data and demographics to assess mobility needs
• Prepare conceptual designs for roadways, intersections, pedestrians and bicyclists
• Prepare and review technical memoranda and reports
• Lead meetings with clients and partners
• Deliver analysis findings and recommendations collaboratively
• Serve as a task leader on small to mid-size projects
