Job summary

IMEG Corporation is hiring a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead design efforts for moderate to complex transportation projects from our Chicago, IL office and other Illinois locations. You will guide engineering solutions, manage project direction, and advise clients to improve traffic safety and infrastructure performance.

The role requires a BS in Civil Engineering, a PE license, and 7+ years in building design consulting.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering required.
• PE license required.
• 7 years minimum experience; 16+ preferred in building design consulting.
• Advanced design techniques and tools for transportation projects.
• Strong communication and mentoring skills; project leadership.
• Travel up to 25% may be required.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for complex transportation projects including highways, bridges, transit, and multimodal networks.
• Provide advanced technical oversight and support project teams through delivery.
• Perform site assessments and develop detailed analyses and technical reports.
• Collaborate with clients to understand project needs, define requirements, and maintain relationships.
• Review designs, calculations, specs, and correspondence to support quality control and client requirements.
• Implement IMEG QC processes to ensure designs meet standards and project requirements.
• Provide technical training, mentoring, and field issue resolution with minimal senior staff support.
• Stay current on industry trends and best practices while supporting R&D and innovation within IMEG.
• Prioritize safety and regulatory compliance in line with design criteria.
