Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation seeks a Transportation Engineer to support complex construction projects in Prescott Valley, AZ. The role involves engineering analysis, design and coordination with multiple agencies to ensure durable, cost-effective transportation solutions.

The selected candidate will provide technical leadership, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with plans, specs, and regulations.

Qualifications

BSCE required.
PE licensure in Arizona or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment start date.
A valid driver's license and the ability to operate a state vehicle as part of job duties.

Responsibilities

Provide engineering and technical direction for complex transportation construction projects, ensuring function, durability and compliance with design intent.
Assist senior resident engineer with project scoping, designs, and development; monitor contractor payments, quantities, labor compliance and training requirements.
Coordinate construction activities with federal, state and local entities to minimize conflicts and communicate with stakeholders.
Lead and supervise staff, ensure adherence to plans, specifications and contractual documents; may operate a State vehicle for state business.
