Job summary

Arizona Department of Transportation in Phoenix is seeking a Senior Resident Engineer to provide engineering direction for highly complex construction contracts, overseeing design, construction and maintenance to meet design intent at a reasonable cost.

The role requires leading administrative duties, coordinating with federal, state and local entities, and ensuring compliance with plans and specifications. A valid PE and Arizona licensure within 6 months is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil Engineering; PE licensure required within 6 months if not already held.
• Experience supervising complex construction projects and coordinating with stakeholders.
• Strong leadership and project management for transportation design/construction.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering direction for complex construction projects and supervise staff.
• Coordinate scope, designs, and contractor payments; monitor progress.
• Ensure compliance with plans, specs, and safety requirements.
