Job Description
This opportunity involves working on projects for local and state agencies as a Transportation Engineer. Responsibilities include roadway, drainage, and utility design, client relationship cultivation, and participating in state and regional associations. Strong communication skills are essential for proposals and marketing efforts.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Manage and participate in the MDOT plan review process.
  2. Handle various aspects of roadway design projects from conceptual to final design.
  3. Coordinate work with team members to meet project requirements, budgets, and schedules.
  4. Apply technical expertise to project demands.
  5. Collaborate with other disciplines on multi-disciplinary projects.
  6. Develop project quantities and cost estimates independently.
  7. Assist in marketing efforts, including proposal writing and conference attendance.
  8. Satisfy client requirements and maintain industry recognition through professional associations.
  9. Promote Egis’s presence in the marketplace.
  10. Work within a team to develop and design roadway projects, including leading and training subordinate staff.
  11. Ensure quality work through plan and computation reviews.
  12. Innovate to develop time-saving design processes for departmental use.
  13. Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • 6+ years of experience in INDOT roadway or local road design.
  • Proficiency with MicroStation and OpenRoads software.
  • Pavement design and project management experience are pluses.
  • Indiana PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.
