Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Transportation Engineer to lead planning, design, and execution of transportation projects in Welkom, Free State. You will supervise design teams, perform traffic analyses, and liaise with authorities to ensure conformance with standards.

The role requires a Civil Engineering degree with a Transportation specialization, Pr Eng registration, and at least 7 years of experience in transportation engineering. Hybrid work arrangement offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Transportation Engineering.
• Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) registration with ECSA is required.
• A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience in transportation engineering.
• Proven experience with transportation planning and design software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, PTV Vissim, Synchro).

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and design of transportation infrastructure projects, including highways, urban roads, and intersections.
• Conduct traffic studies, demand forecasting, and capacity analyses.
• Develop traffic management plans and intersection designs.
• Prepare technical reports, design drawings, and specifications.
• Liaise with clients, government authorities, and other stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
• Oversee junior engineers and technicians, providing technical guidance and mentorship.
