In the role of Senior Transportation Engineer, we'll count on you to:

1. Serve as the lead technical role in the detailed development of urban roadway design projects.
2. Perform quality assurance checks on major transportation projects on interstate and state highway systems.
3. Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of greater scope and complexity.
4. Assume some project management duties and interact with clients as needed.
5. Supervise work of medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed.
6. Perform other duties as needed.

This position requires employees to be onsite at the LAWA project office five days a week effective January 1, 2025.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with MicroStation, InRoads, Microsoft Office applications.
• City of Los Angeles experience strongly preferred.
• LAWA experience strongly preferred.
• California P.E.
• Major roadway and underground improvement design experience desired.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree.
• A minimum of 10 years experience in all aspects of roadway engineering design.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, communication skills, and ability to work with various teams.
• Project management skills desirable.
• Experience should include urban and rural highway interchanges, intersection design, traffic management, transportation planning, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometrical layout, and CAD base alignment plans.
• Coordinated survey, grading, drainage, utilities, and layout of various site items is a plus.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
