ATCS is seeking a dynamic and highly motivated Lead Transportation Engineer to join our growing team! Job Responsibilities:

1. Technical designer for a variety of civil engineering transportation projects.
2. Preparing design calculations, using appropriate software, roadways and site improvements.
3. Work under senior level engineers and managers to provide innovative design solutions and solve project challenges.
4. Communicate with internal and external clients to ensure effective engineering design solutions.
5. Work in a team environment between multiple disciplines on a daily basis.
6. Perform quality assurance and quality reviews of design plans, specifications, and estimates.
7. Occasionally travel to other offices and project sites as needed.

Required Skills:

1. Bachelor’s Degree Civil Engineering from ABET accredited engineering program.
2. Minimum of 10 years of experience in roadway/transportation design – preferably in North Carolina.
3. NC Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
4. Demonstrate working ability with design and modeling computer software - MicroStation and OpenRoads Designer. AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge is a plus.
5. Familiarity with AASHTO, NCDOT and regional design standards, practices and policies.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with others.
7. Experience with multimodal transportation planning and design is a plus (i.e., bicycle, pedestrian, transit).

Our employees are the most critical part of ATCS. For this position, we offer a competitive salary range of $99,000 to $148,500 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The role is also eligible for an annual bonus, with a target 2% of the employee's annualized salary.
