Job summary

LVI Associates in New Jersey seeks a seasoned engineering leader to own high-profile transportation and bridge programs across the state. You will direct complex infrastructure assignments, build partnerships with NJDOT, municipalities, and transportation authorities, and mentor teams to ensure high-quality delivery.

You will guide delivery strategies, oversee multidisciplinary design efforts, and contribute to business development through proposals and client interactions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required; NJ licensure or reciprocity preferred.
• 12+ years of experience in bridge, structural, transportation, or civil infrastructure engineering.
• Experience delivering transportation or bridge projects from design initiation through construction completion.
• Experience with bridge rehabilitation, replacement, or related infrastructure programs.

Responsibilities

• Direct transportation and bridge engineering assignments through all phases of project delivery, including planning, design, permitting, procurement, and construction services.
• Manage a diverse portfolio of bridges, highways, roadways, and municipal transportation facilities.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams of structural, roadway, traffic, environmental, geotechnical, and water resources professionals.
• Act as the primary liaison for agency and municipal clients, ensuring strong communication and responsive service throughout project execution.
• Monitor project performance: schedules, budgets, staffing plans, risk management, and quality standards.
• Review and oversee the development of engineering drawings, specifications, technical reports, estimates, and supporting documentation.
• Provide strategic direction on engineering solutions, constructability considerations, and project delivery approaches.
• Facilitate coordination among disciplines and address technical challenges to maintain project momentum.
• Ensure designs comply with NJDOT requirements, AASHTO standards, MUTCD guidelines, and applicable regulations.
• Conduct site evaluations, inspections, field reviews, and structural assessments as required.
• Support growth and advancement of engineering staff through mentorship and training.
• Contribute to business development activities, including proposals, scope development, and interviews.

Education
