Job summary

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. is seeking a Driver to transport older adult clients on scheduled routes to senior centers, medical appointments, and community destinations.

You will escort and assist frail clients from their homes to the vehicle and back, ensuring passenger safety with seat belts and proper restraints, while handling light clerical duties. Qualifications include a NYS Class D license, ability to lift 25 lbs, and a defensive driving certificate within 6 months.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid NYS Driver’s License (Class D) with driving record printout.
• Defensive driving certificate within 6 months of employment.
• One year of driving experience with <=1 moving violation in 24 months.
• Knowledge of local roadways where the program operates.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Transport older adult clients on regularly scheduled routes to destinations.
• Escort and assist frail clients from homes to the vehicle and back.
• Ensure passenger safety using seat belts and safety devices.
• Perform clerical tasks including data entry, filing, answering phones, and mail distribution.
