Job summary

Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens, Inc. is seeking a dedicated driver to transport older adults to senior centers, appointments, and community activities on scheduled routes.

You will assist clients from homes to the vehicle and back when needed, prioritizing safety and comfort throughout the journey. The role requires a valid NY driver's license, a defensive driving certificate within 6 months, and at least one year of driving with a clean record, plus the ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid New York State Driver’s License (Class D) and annual Driving Record printout.
• Defensive driving certificate within 6 months of employment.
• One year driving experience with clean record (no DWI), within the last 24 months.
• Knowledge of local roadways where the program operates.
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Transport clients on regularly scheduled routes from homes to senior centers, supermarkets, and medical appointments.
• Escort and assist fragile clients from homes to the vehicle and back when needed.
• Ensure passenger safety using seat belts, wheelchair restraints, and other safety devices.
