Job summary

Keck Hospital of USC is seeking a Transplant Coordinator II to manage donor organ offers, triage urgent cases, and coordinate organ recovery with surgical teams. The role requires RN with BSN/ADN transition and at least five years in organ donation or transplantation, plus strong communication and regulatory knowledge.

The position includes 24/7 on-call coverage on a rotating schedule, potential home-based work, and collaboration with the Donor Allocation team to ensure timely transplant

Qualifications

• RN, BSN or ADN with transition plan to BSN within two years
• Minimum 5 years clinical experience in organ donation or transplantation
• Excellent communication skills, English proficiency
• Knowledge of immunosuppression management and transplantation policies

Responsibilities

• Takes and reviews deceased donor organ offers and delegates review to Donor Allocation Specialist
• Facilitates acceptance/refusal of donor organs and coordinates organ recovery
• Performs complex logistical support for organ recovery and placement
• Coordinates urgent after-hours listings and after-hours evaluations
• Maintains professional communication with surgeons, recipients, and donor staff
• Triages after-hours calls and escalates to on-call physician when needed
• Ensures UNOS and CMS regulatory responsibilities are met in a timely manner
• Uses Cerner and UNOS databases for transplant candidate information
