Qualifications

• Registered Nurse - RN (CA DCA) license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Takes and reviews all deceased donor organ offers and delegates to Donor Allocation Specialist.
• Facilitates acceptance or refusal of donor organs and coordinates organ recovery.
• Executes complex logistical support for organ recovery and placement.
• Coordinates listing of urgent patients after hours and weekends.
• Maintains professional communication with surgeons, recipients, and donor staff.
• Triages after-hours calls and escalates to on-call physician when appropriate.
• Demonstrates knowledge of UNOS policy and CMS regulations for organ allocation and waitlist management.
• Uses Cerner and UNOS databases to enter and retrieve recipient information.
• Participates in 24/7 on-call coverage on rotating schedule.
