Job summary

Jobot is a national contractor specializing in outside electrical construction, with a focus on transmission, distribution, and substations. The Project Manager – Transmission & Substation will lead engineering activities for high-voltage projects from early design through construction and closeout.

The role provides technical oversight, guides external engineering partners, and collaborates with operations, field teams, and customers to ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient project delivery.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of engineering or engineering management experience in utility or high-voltage infrastructure.
• Strong background in civil, structural, or electrical engineering and utility standards.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering efforts across all project phases and support field operations as needed.
• Oversee external engineering firms, set performance expectations, and review deliverables.
• Maintain engineering standards, documentation practices, and quality controls.
• Forecast resource needs, manage staffing plans, and mentor engineering team members.
• Support proposal development, customer meetings, and overall project planning.
• Drive process improvements and integrate new technologies into engineering workflows.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and technical excellence.
• Stay current on industry codes, best practices, and emerging trends.
