Job summary
American Electric Power in New Albany, OH is seeking a Transmission Right of Way Agent to oversee land rights acquisitions for electric transmission and distribution facilities. You will negotiate with landowners, settle claims, review legal documents, and manage ROW projects, collaborating with internal teams and external vendors.

Qualifications
- Associate degree with 3+ years of related experience or bachelor’s degree with 2+ years of related experience.
- Experience in business, project management, real estate, law, and right-of-way is preferred.
- Licenses and professional certifications (IR/WA, SR/WA, PMP) encouraged.
Responsibilities
- Negotiate land rights with land owners for transmission projects.
- Settle damage claims related to construction activities.
- Search records to determine ownership and interests.
- Review legal documents, surveys, appraisals and reports.
- Prepare legal documents for land-rights acquisitions.
- Track ROW projects, scope, schedule and budget.
- Travel as required within the AEP area and beyond when needed.
- Represent ROW in internal and external forums and ensure safety compliance.
