Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) in New Albany, OH, seeks a Major Projects Director to lead and deliver large transmission initiatives with multi-department coordination, stakeholder engagement, and rigorous governance.

You will oversee safety programs, budgets, schedules, and regulatory filings while guiding a high-performing team and coordinating with JV partners and external contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Project Management, Accounting, Finance, or related field dependent on business unit requirements.
• Ten (10) years of qualified experience in major construction projects, project management, or related fields.
• PMP certification required and a valid state driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Own overall project execution including directing, guiding, and overseeing project management functions.
• Implement and oversee project safety program to achieve Zero Harm.
• Report on project strategy and team needs to Transmission Executive leadership.
• Develop and manage contracts and commercial strategies for project execution.
• Lead executive governance with JV partners and coordinate multi-stakeholder interfaces.
• Oversee integrated schedule across workstreams and align with resource management.
• Manage program budget and contingency; ensure project completion within approved investment.
