Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking a Senior Right of Way Agent to support electric transmission and distribution projects in Richmond, VA, Raleigh, and Charlotte. The role focuses on negotiating land rights, preparing right-of-way documents, and coordinating with landowners while traveling regionally.

The position requires 7+ years ROW experience (2+ years in transmission), a degree (preferably), real estate license, and strong PC/GIS skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree preferred; high school diploma required.
Minimum 7 years of ROW experience with at least 2 years in transmission project experience.
Active real estate license preferred; notary public or ability to obtain within 30 days.
IRWA membership a plus; strong PC, GIS, and data-management skills.
Ability to travel regionally; excellent interpersonal and professional communication.

Responsibilities

Negotiate land rights and associated documents with landowners or designees.
Settle complex damage claims related to construction activities.
Research ownership records to determine property interests.
Advise on fair market values for acquisition of land and rights.
Draft and supervise documents for rights of entry, easements, leases, permits, and options to purchase.
Ensure compliance with health and safety policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
