Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a seasoned Procurement Manager, Major Projects, to serve as the primary procurement partner embedded within project teams. You will lead cross-functional procurement activities, shaping the integrated plan to support timely delivery of major transmission capital projects.

You will coordinate with Project Managers, Directors, and leadership to align procurement with engineering, construction, and commissioning milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with significant experience in procurement and program management.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, contracting, supplier management, and delivery assurance.
• Demonstrated success leading complex cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary procurement liaison for assigned major projects, partnering with project leadership.
• Develop and maintain the integrated project procurement plan aligned with milestones.
• Translate project schedules into coordinated procurement, sourcing, contracting, and material plans.
• Represent material and capacity requirements within portfolio planning and decision processes.
• Maintain procurement dashboards and risk registers with milestones and supplier status.
• Coordinate cross-functional execution across Procurement, Engineering, Construction, and Controls.
