Job summary

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer Member System Planning to lead planning studies and coordinate the development of transmission system and delivery facilities for Member Systems.

The role involves power flow, short-circuit, stability analyses, and interconnection studies, with opportunity for career growth. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and eight years of utility transmission planning

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
Eight years of electric utility transmission planning experience including system analysis and planning methods.
Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time; valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

Develop and perform planning studies for the interconnected transmission system.
Coordinate with Member Systems for planning studies and capital projects.
Prepare written reports and presentations of transmission studies for approval.
Present recommended projects to Tri-State Board and stakeholders.
Review contracts affecting transmission interconnections and services.
Provide engineering support for interconnection, resource planning, and system operations.
Mentor staff and interns; train new personnel.
Adhere to EEO laws and safety regulations.
