Job summary

Qualus is seeking a Senior Transmission Planning Engineer to join our fully remote team, supporting utilities in WECC. You will apply advanced power system analysis, lead technical direction, and mentor junior consultants.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, strong knowledge of steady state and transient stability studies, and hands-on PSLF/PSSE/Powerworld experience. Excellent communication and problem solving are essential.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited electrical engineering degree.
• Minimum of 5 years engineering experience.
• Experience running Steady State and Transient Stability studies.
• Knowledge of power system analysis and modeling techniques.
• Experience with transmission planning for WECC.
• Strong analytical and written/verbal skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform steady state and transient stability studies.
• Analyze load flow using PSLF/PSSE/Powerworld.
• Develop System Impact Studies and Transmission Service Requests.
• Provide technical direction and mentoring to consultants.
• Justify strategy and analyses with documentation and data.
