Job summary

NY State Electric & Gas Corp seeks a Lead Engineer – Transmission Planning to lead reliability and economic studies across transmission systems from Orange, CT. You will analyze voltage, thermal, stability, and transfer limits, document results, and present recommendations to internal teams and external stakeholders.

We expect a BSEE (MSEE/PE a plus) and 7+ years of experience in power system studies, with proficiency in PSSE, TARA, and ASPEN.

Qualifications

• BSEE required with advanced degrees or certificates (e.g., MSEE, PE).
• 7+ years of industry experience in power systems.
• Knowledge of NERC, NPCC, ISO and regulatory standards.
• Experience with power system studies: power flow, stability, short circuit.

Responsibilities

• Lead reliability and economic studies across transmission systems.
• Mentor and collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Apply planning criteria and standards; participate in site inspections.
• Document results and present recommendations to stakeholders.
