1898 & Co. in Orlando, FL is seeking a Transmission Planning Consultant to shape the electric grid through advanced studies and data-driven analysis. You will perform a broad range of planning analyses and contribute to client decisions with technical and economic insights.

The role requires ABET-accredited engineering education and relevant utility/planning experience, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple projects. Travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or ABET-accredited program with 3 years' related experience.
• Or master's in engineering or business with 2 years' experience.
• Or PhD in engineering with 1 year of experience.
• Experience with electric utility operations, planning, or consulting.
• Experience with power system planning and operations; NERC, FERC, and regional requirements.

Responsabilités

• Perform power flow, transient stability, transfer capability, short-circuit, voltage analysis, and related studies.
• Evaluate regulatory conditions using NERC, FERC, and regional requirements.
• Independently execute planning studies using PSS/E, PSLF, EMTP/ATP, PSCAD, SKM, ETAP, and Promod.
• Develop technical reports and client presentations with findings and recommendations.
• Support project managers with deliverables, proposals, and business development.
