Job summary

American Electric Power (AEP) is seeking an engineer to perform intermediate level engineering work focused on metering systems for substations and large customers. The role emphasizes safe, efficient project execution under supervision and collaboration with a team.

You will apply engineering knowledge to analyze problems, design metering solutions, and coordinate major projects while mentoring junior staff and preparing technical reports for leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination is encouraged and preferred for future licensing as a PE.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates intermediate-level knowledge and proficiency applying engineering techniques to solve diverse problems and conduct in-depth analyses.
• Design, installation and commissioning of metering systems for substations, as well as large customers.
• Plan and coordinate major metering projects, provide engineering support and training for assigned AEP operating companies.
• Develop metering programs and perform lab tests and analyses.
• Develops, reviews, and presents technical reports clearly and concisely.

FE exam encouraged for PE licensure
