Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced transmission design professional for a hybrid role based in Lexington, KY. You will design 69kV–765kV lines, mentor junior designers, and ensure designs meet client specs and industry standards.

The role requires a BS from an ABET-accredited program and 12+ years of transmission design experience, with proficiency in PLS-CADD and strong client interaction skills.

Qualifications

• Must hold a BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• Experience with 12+ years in transmission design.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience developing scopes of work, conceptual designs, design basis, equipment/material selections, calculations and specifications.
• Experience working with clients on 69kV–500kV transmission lines.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI standards.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines in the 69kV to 765kV range.
• Mentor and train less experienced design team members.
• Coordinate design activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly per client requirements and S&L formats.
• Perform independent reviews of work including calculations, drawings, and PLS-CADD models.
• Adhere to Sargent & Lundy's System of Processes.
• Hybrid work arrangement in Lexington, KY with three days in the office and two remote days.
• Relocation package available depending on location.
