Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior transmission design engineer to design lines from 69kV to 500kV, mentor the design team, and coordinate activities to meet client and code requirements.

You will prepare technical reports and oversee calculations and specifications, leveraging PLS-CADD and industry standards while following the firm’s processes. The role supports hybrid work with relocation options where applicable.

Qualifications

• BS degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program.
• 12+ years of transmission design experience.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD software.
• Experience preparing scopes of work, conceptual designs, design basis, equipment/material selection, and calculations/specifications.
• Experience with 69kV through 500kV transmission lines.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI.
• Experience reviewing design drawings by others.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission lines from 69kV to 500kV.
• Mentor and train design team members.
• Coordinate design activities to meet specs, codes, and client requirements.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information.
• Review others' drawings and calculations for accuracy.
• Adhere to Sargent & Lundy’s System of Processes.
