Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a senior transmission design engineer to design and optimize 69kV–765kV transmission lines, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate design activities to ensure installations meet client specifications, codes, and project goals.

The role requires a BS in an ABET-accredited engineering program, 12+ years of transmission design experience, and proficiency with PLS-CADD. Relocation assistance is available for eligible candidates under our hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

ABET-accredited engineering BS required.
12+ years of transmission design experience.
Proficient in PLS-CADD software.
Experience with scopes of work, conceptual designs, design basis, equipment/material selection, and calculations.
Experience with 69kV through 500kV transmission lines.
Knowledge of NESC, IEC, ASCE, ACI, IEEE and ANSI.
Experience reviewing design drawings.

Responsibilities

Design transmission lines in the 69kV–765kV range.
Mentor and train design team members.
Coordinate design activities to meet specifications, codes, and client requirements.
Prepare reports and studies meeting client requirements and S&L formats.
Perform independent reviews of work including calculations, drawings, and PLS-CADD models.
Adhere to Sargent & Lundy's System of Processes.
