Job summary

R.E. Warner and Associates, Inc. in North Olmsted, OH, is seeking a Transmission Line Engineer to design overhead transmission projects from concept through construction. You’ll work with PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and related tools to deliver safe, compliant high-voltage designs and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams.

Your role focuses on detailed design packages, site evaluations, and construction-phase support, applying industry standards and maintaining client relations to meet project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering required.
• 5+ years of experience in designing and analyzing transmission lines (25kV+).
• PE license or ability to obtain required.
• Strong understanding of high-voltage electrical and structural engineering.
• Proficient with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, AutoCAD and related tools.
• Know IES/NESC/IEEE/ASCE standards and ongoing industry changes.
• Ability to build relationships with team, clients and stakeholders.
• Demonstrates integrity, accountability and independent judgment.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities; clear verbal and written communication.
• Ability to manage assigned work independently with guidance as needed.

Responsibilities

• Design transmission line routes, configurations and structures 25kV+.
• Perform structural analysis, sag-tension, and clearance checks.
• Develop detailed design packages for bidding, permitting and construction.
• Collaborate with ROW, environmental and project management teams.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate terrain, constraints and solutions.
• Assist with estimates, schedules and procurement strategies.
• Provide construction-phase support and address design changes.
• Maintain knowledge of client standards and current codes.
• Engage with clients through meetings, providing updates and technical insights.
