Job summary

RRC Power & Energy, LLC in Austin/Round Rock, Texas, is seeking a Transmission Line Designer IV to join our growing utility-scale team. You will perform transmission line design using PLS-CADD and PLS-POLE (wood, steel, concrete), and develop project drawings, BOMs, and foundation details.

You will work under senior engineers to apply NESC, ASCE 7, and other standards, mentor junior staff, and contribute to procedures and quality. This full-time position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associates or technical school degree or combination of education and relevant experience.
• 5+ years of transmission line engineering design.
• Proficiency using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation.
• Proficiency with PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE (wood, steel, and concrete).
• Must be authorized for full-time work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform transmission line design in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE (wood, steel, and concrete).
• Develop project drawings and documents including, but not limited to, plan and profiles, bill of materials, assembly details, foundation details.
• Interpret and apply RRC, client, and industry standards to independently execute projects/tasks, with oversight and guidance from senior engineers.
• Ensure designs meet project specifications, design requirements, and company quality standards.
• Contribute to the creation, improvement, and implementation of internal design procedures and standards.
• Mentor and train designers/technicians and share technical expertise.
• Project site-visits are possible on occasion.
