Job summary

Ameren Transmission in the United States seeks a Transmission Line Design and Maintenance Engineer to perform design, engineering studies, maintenance and project management for transmission lines above 100 kV. The role requires handling multiple projects, ensuring safety, code compliance, and coordination with real estate, drafting, line crews and contractors.

Candidates should have a BS in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, active or attainable EIT and PE licenses in IL/MO, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• EIT certification or commitment to actively pursue one in Illinois and/or Missouri.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) License or commitment to actively pursue one in Illinois and/or Missouri.
• Prior experience with Transmission Line Maintenance and Tower Light Maintenance preferred.
• Strong analytical, communications and human relations skills.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and work well in a team.
• Knowledge of NESC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and engineering to meet current design codes and safety guidelines.
• Evaluate and select structure and material types; design wood structures and routes for new lines.
• Develop construction specifications and complete bid documents; lead drawings and cost estimates.
• Develop project scope docs, basis of design and control documents for projects.
• Coordinate with real estate, drafting, other engineering groups, line crews and contractors.
• Facilitate permits and review external plans for safe operation; support storm restoration as needed.
