Job summary

Ameren Transmission seeks a Transmission Line Design and Maintenance Engineer to plan, design, maintain, and manage projects for transmission lines over 100kV. The role involves handling multiple assignments, costing, scheduling, and ensuring compliance with safety codes and standards.

You will develop and review design parameters, route selections, and construction documents, while coordinating with real estate, drafting, and contractor teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.
• EIT certification or active pursuit in Illinois and/or Missouri required.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or active pursuit in Illinois and/or Missouri required.
• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform design and engineering to establish safe design parameters that meet current codes.
• Evaluate and select structure and material types; design wood structures; route selections for new lines.
• Prepare construction specifications, bid documents, drawings, and cost estimates.
• Ensure NESC compliance and safety guidelines; provide expert testimony; stay updated on new tech.
• Develop engineering solutions, cost and schedule estimates for projects.
• Coordinate with real estate, drafting, other engineering groups, line crews and contractors.
