Job summary

SolveNow Inc. in the United States is seeking an engineer focused on high-voltage transmission line design, spanning civil and electrical disciplines.

Projects range from 34.5kV to 500kV, with titles including Design Engineer II, Engineer, Project Engineer, or Senior Project Engineer depending on experience. Candidates must have a PE license or be able to obtain one within a year, a bachelor’s in Civil or Electrical Engineering, and at least 3 years of hands-on transmission line design

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Civil or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• At least 3 years in transmission line design; senior roles may require 10+ years.
• Licensed Professional Engineer or ability to obtain licensure within one year of hire.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of NESC, IEEE, ASCE, ACI, ANSI standards for transmission design.

Responsibilities

• Generate cost effective designs for high voltage electrical transmission lines.
• Represent the Engineering department and participate in inter-department meetings.
• Attend meetings with customers to support the Sales department and the engineers.
• Monitor team progress and activities to ensure projects remain on schedule, within budget and exceed customer expectations.
• Able to perform transmission line engineering work independently.
• Balance innovation and standardization of work processes.
• Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer level individuals will ensure that projects meet quality and schedule objectives.
• Travel out of town for short periods of time as required by assignments.
