Job summary

East Point Energy in Charlottesville, VA, is seeking a Senior Transmission & Interconnection Execution Engineer. The role involves leading interconnection execution across the project lifecycle, providing expertise during development and commissioning.

The ideal candidate will have significant experience with interconnection processes and a degree in Electrical Engineering. The position offers potential for hybrid work.

Qualifications

• 4+ (senior) / 6+ (manager) years of interconnection execution experience across multiple RTOs/ISOs.
• Experience leading generator interconnection through full interconnection lifecycle.
• Experience with NERC compliance standards.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of interconnection strategy.
• Lead execution of interconnection requirements defined in agreements.
• Serve as the primary technical contact with utilities and ISOs/RTOs.
• Provide electrical engineering expertise across all phases of projects.

Skills

In-depth expertise of distribution and transmission systems as it relates to renewables

Strong proficiency in power system modeling using PSSE, PSLF, TARA

Strong project management skills

Knowledge of ISO/RTO and utility tariffs

Knowledge of power systems and grid architecture

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering

Masters in Electrical Power Systems preferred
