Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking a Senior/Principal Transmission Construction Representative to guide CM efforts during planning and kickoff of transmission line and station projects in Texas. You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with Safety and Environmental teams, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence.

The role requires strong leadership, SME knowledge, and travel 25-30% with on-site work.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management Science or related field; 6+ years PM/CM experience.
Associate Degree in Construction Management/Engineering with 8+ years in the electric industry; or equivalent.
High School diploma with 10+ years in electric industry or PM oversight.

Responsibilities

Act as SME for CM in transmission line and substation construction.
Liaise between CM and Transmission Field Services, PM, and Engineering teams.
Attend kick-off, scoping, pre-bid, and pre-construction meetings.
Identify risks related to safety, schedules, budgets, and resources; propose mitigations.
Mentor and lead Transmission Construction Representatives; provide leadership.
Deliver CM trainings and presentations to various groups.
Coordinate with Safety and Environmental teams on mitigation of issues.
Lead CM efforts during major storm restoration and emergencies.
Contribute to CM Core Block Training development and delivery.
