Job summary

Madrigal Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Medical Director in Translational Medicine & Early Clinical Development to lead medical oversight of early studies, align translational biomarker strategy, and partner with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, and Safety. Hybrid work in Conshohocken, PA or Waltham, MA.

The role requires MD with extensive industry experience, strong leadership, and a track record in biomarker-driven development.

Qualifications

• MD with clinical training in a relevant specialty (hepatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, cardiology, internal medicine) or equivalent.
• 15+ years in clinical development with leadership of early phase interventional trials.
• Strong track record in translational medicine and biomarker-driven development, with regulatory experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Act as medical lead for first-in-human and early proof-of-concept studies, integrating clinical, biomarker, and mechanistic data.
• Lead study concept and protocol design, patient populations, endpoints, and mechanistic sub-studies.
• Provide medical oversight of trials including eligibility, safety monitoring, and data interpretation.
• Chair or co-chair early asset teams and ensure integrated development strategy with cross-functional partners.
• Represent Madrigal at scientific/medical conferences and publications.
