Job summary

VHB seeks a Transit & Rail Engineer to join a growing team in Pennsylvania. Hybrid work options available in Philadelphia or Lansdale. You will design rail and bus infrastructure, collaborate across disciplines, and support agencies such as SEPTA, Amtrak, NJ Transit, or MTA.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required; Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
5+ years of professional experience in transit & rail/transportation engineering design.
PE License; experience with AREMA/APTA practices preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist and perform design on rail projects including stations, layover/service facilities, bus transit, rail bridges, right-of-way infrastructure, MOE/MOW yards, signals and communications.
Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules and budgets; assist in development of project deliverables.
Support Project Development with conceptual designs, feasibility studies, planning studies, and quality control.
Perform inspections, evaluations, and assessments of rail and transit infrastructure; develop drawings, specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules.
Prepare technical reports and analysis; assist in development of construction bid documents; provide design support during construction.
Work effectively in a multi-disciplined team environment.
