Job summary
Vanasse Hangen Brustlin Inc. (VHB) seeks a Transit and Rail Engineer to join its Transportation Transit & Rail team in a hybrid role based in Philadelphia or Lansdale, PA. You will contribute to design, analysis, and technical reports for rail and bus transit projects.
You will work with multi-disciplinary teams, support agencies such as SEPTA, Amtrak, NJ Transit, or MTA, and help deliver safe, reliable transit infrastructure while advancing your career.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required. Master’s degree may substitute for 1 year of experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in transit & rail/transportation engineering design.
- Understanding of railroad and rail/bus transit design requirements (AREMA and APTA practices).
- PE License.
- Amtrak, SEPTA, DRPA, PATCO, NJ Transit, and/or NY MTA experience preferred.
- Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, and/or MicroStation is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist and perform design on rail projects including stations, layover facilities, bus transit, rail bridges, and right-of-way infrastructure.
- Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Assist in development of project deliverables and construction bid documents.
