Job summary

HDR is seeking a Transit Engineering Business Class Leader to guide the design and delivery of complex transit and multimodal projects in North Carolina, including Charlotte, Winston-Salem, Raleigh, Wilmington, and Asheville. You will be a senior technical leader, mentoring staff and partnering with public agencies to advance rail, bus, and multimodal corridors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in transit/rail engineering leadership.
• Professional registration (NC) or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Strong communication and ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Serve as trusted advisor and primary client liaison with transit agencies and DOTs.
• Lead business development and client engagement across our transit practice.
• Guide engineering teams through planning, design, and construction phases for complex projects.
• Coordinate across planning, environmental, traffic, roadway, structures, and construction disciplines.
