Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Transformer Design Specialist to help shape a reliable, efficient energy future. You will collaborate across functions to design three-phase and single-phase transformers and support prototype testing, balancing performance with safety and manufacturability.

You will contribute to advanced design reviews, mentor teammates, and ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience in electrical design or product development, ideally transformer engineering.
• Ability to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools; Creo proficiency a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for diverse audiences.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on design of three-phase and single-phase transformers.
• Lead design reviews and optimize performance for safety and manufacturability.
• Support prototype builds, testing, and design updates.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and Hitachi Energy standards.
• Provide mentorship within engineering team.
• Drive continuous improvement in design processes.
