Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to develop, introduce, and apply engineering knowledge for transformer power components. The role involves hands-on engineering tasks and collaboration with stakeholders to solve complex challenges related to the power grid.

Under limited direction, you will perform advanced assignments requiring deep electrical engineering expertise and cross-disciplinary understanding to achieve cost-effective objectives and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical engineering with 5–7+ years of experience.
• Strong understanding of dielectrics, thermal behavior, electrical stress, and mechanical strength of assemblies and components.
• Experience in developing electromechanical products, especially transformer components, is preferred.
• Experience in electrical component design, wiring schematics, manufacturing, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Pro-E/3D CAD experience is highly desired; Windchill/PLM experience is a plus.
• Must be able to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and evaluate systems to create drawings and schematics.
• Prepare specifications, proposals, Bills of Materials, control schematics, and assembly drawings per customer specs.
• Act as principal investigator or lead a group of engineers to develop solutions and reports.
• Analyze new proposals, requirements, specifications, and products.
• Participate in group meetings; resolve significant technical issues and conduct root-cause analysis.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product design and performance.
